Katie Britton- Veterinary Assistant B Sc. (Honours)
Katie has always known she had a passion for animal care. Her interest in animals started at a young age, as she spent countless hours horseback riding and working on the farm, playing with barn kittens. Growing up, she was always the first to bring home an injured chipmunk or bird, or find a stray cat that needed a home. After completing her high school co-op here at Summerlyn, Katie knew she wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. She graduated with a BSc (Honours) in Biology in 2018 and started with us here shortly after.
Katie has an appreciation for the care of all animals, domestic and wild. In the summer, you can find her volunteering at a local rehabilitation center, caring for injured and orphaned wildlife. She feels privileged and eager to have the opportunity learn all she can about the veterinary industry, while also being able to witness and take part in the joy that animals bring to our lives.
In her spare time, Katie enjoys reading, hiking with her dog Marley, and spending time with friends and family.
